Prejob Planning​

TEC will review all provided documentation prior to making ultimate recommendations for BHA configurations or run sequencing (in advanced applications). Our team of technical representatives will ensure no well details are overlooked and consideration is taken to reflect surface equipment and fluid systems that will be utilized for the job. We plan to be ready for contingencies with backup components and various mill sizing so when conditions change, the operation is never at a stand still.

Coiled Tubing Milling

Thruster is a seasoned provider of coiled tubing milling services across North America with services and equipment availability expanding globally. TEC’s in-house milling tools are purpose built to work in leading edge operations with the highest pump rates, delivering extreme annular velocities for turbulent flow and solids transport without high viscosity fluid systems. TEC’s motors range in size from 1.688” to 3.500” and flow rates from 2 – 8 bbl/min which are regularly paired with our in-house extended reach tools. TEC extended reach tools feature matched optimal flow rate ranges for operational simplicity and use proprietary internal systems to offer ROPs only achieved with TEC. Matching any BHA configuration with our unique and patented Universal Jet Thruster (UJT) will further increase ROP, hole cleaning and milling efficiency.

Jointed Pipe and Snub Milling

Custom connections eliminate unnecessary downhole jewelry and additional considerations are taken with the added benefit of work string rotation. TEC’s flexibility and make our tools and technicians the perfect through tubing integration into any technical jointed pipe operation.

 

Casing Milling & Deformation Services

TEC is the premiere industry leader in casing milling and deformation services with more global experience than any other provider of milling services. This complex application often involves extensive pre-job planning and several milling runs to achieve the desired outcome. Our wide array of step mills will remove the restriction effectively while our systems and procedures will guide Operators to avoid unintended outcomes such as accidental casing exit, stuck BHAs or long and ineffective milling runs.

Cement Drilling

TEC equipment can handle tough fluid systems better than anything on the market. When cement drilling is necessary, suspended solids in the fluid system will inevitably get circulated through BHA components during the job. Only the toughest.

TEC offers an extensive variety of application specific mills such as Bear Claw, sealed bearing Tricone, or our own developed PDC Reaper hybrid bit.

Low Bottom Hole Pressure Solutions

Any re-entry into low bottomhole pressure carries additional risk and procedural adjustments. Low BHP milling and well cleaning can be optimized with the right equipment designed to operate in the applied fluid system. Whether the fluid system is energized or utilizing enhanced stabilization systems containing aphrons to relieve hydrostatic pressure, TEC has extensive run history and success with these fluid systems. TEC BHA components are optimized to perform in these challenging conditions.

Split String, Mid-String ERT, STEP Coil+™ Extreme Reach Milling

TEC is one of only a select number of service providers capable of handling pressure deployment of coil tubing tools for mid-string extended reach applications. This requires specialized equipment and safety procedures for correctly installing and operating an extended reach tool at a desired location in the middle of the coil tubing work string. Our system is comprehensive and procedures are executed meticulously for tensile, torsional and hydraulic confirmation to ensure confidence in reaching the toe of 28,000+ ft wells (8,600m) while maintaining positive WOB. Incorporating our industry leading extended reach tools has resulted in TD’ing monstrous wells at world record pace.
